NCDC Office Closure
The offices of the National Council for Senior Citizen (NCSC) located at 11 West Kings House Road in Kingston will be closed to the public tomorrow, Friday, August 28, 2020 for deep cleaning and sanitization.
The council will resume normal operations to the public on Monday, August 31, 2020.

The technicians are working assiduously to correct the problem and normality should resume tomorrow, Wednesday, August 26, 2020.

NIS Pension Payments Late For August 14, 2020
The Ministry of Labour & Social Security is advising NIS pensioners that majority of the payments that were due on Friday, August 14, 2020 were not made because of technical difficulties being experienced by the National Commercial Bank in processing the payments.
We have been assured that the matter is getting priority attention by the bank’s technical team and is expected to be resolved soon.
The Ministry will advise pensioners as soon as this is completed.
We regret the inconveniences that this interruption has caused.

NIS Pensioners Now Receiving Payment After Delay Processing on Friday
NIS Pensioners who did not receive their payments on Friday, August 14 as was scheduled, because of technical issues experienced by the National Commercial bank, are now receiving payments. The bank has confirmed to the Ministry that the issue has now been resolved and the processing of payments started early on Saturday.
Pensioners are therefore being urged to check their accounts to verify that their payments are now being reflected.
The National Commercial Bank has indicated that NIS Pensioners who bank with other Financial Institutions will see payment start reflecting in their accounts on Monday, August 17, 2020.

Employers are reminded that in keeping with the Employment Termination and Redundancy Payment Regulations, the Minister with responsibility for Labour should be advised of any redundancy exercise. This notice should be submitted in writing to the Minister within 21 days of the date the redundancy takes effect. Persons who contravene this regulation can be liable on summary conviction to a fine not exceeding $250,000, up to 3 months imprisonment or both a fine and imprisonment.
