The Honourable Donovan St. L. Williams serves as Minister of State in the Ministry of Labour and Social Security and is the Member of Parliament for Central Kingston, representing the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP).
An accomplished Attorney-at-Law, Minister Williams earned his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) from the University of the West Indies, Barbados, in 1999, and completed his professional legal training at the Norman Manley Law School in 2001. After graduating, he gained experience working with a law firm and, in 2004, established his own practice, Donovan St. L. Williams & Co., which he continues to operate today.
First elected to Parliament in 2020 and re-elected in 2025, Minister Williams has been an active voice on issues impacting his constituency, including crime prevention, youth empowerment, and infrastructure development.
During the previous parliamentary term, he served on several key committees, including the Constituency Development Fund, Internal and External Affairs, Public Accounts, and the Standing Finance Committee, where he contributed to national policy discussions and legislative oversight.
Known for his commitment to public service, Minister Williams continues to focus on enhancing the quality of life for residents, promoting unity in Central Kingston, and advancing sustainable development initiatives throughout his constituency.
In his capacity as Minister of State in the Ministry of Labour and Social Security, he has direct responsibility for the Jamaica Productivity Centre, Child Labour, Steps to Work, Employment Agencies, Social Intervention Programme, and Special Projects. Minister Williams remains committed to driving initiatives that empower Jamaica’s workforce, protect vulnerable groups, and support pathways to economic growth and social development.
